How durable is the cork yoga mat?
It's very durable. We have colleagues who have enjoyed their mat for 8+ years without any issues. If you keep it at room temperature and use it regularly, it can last virtually forever.
How much grip does a cork yoga mat have?
Cork has pretty much the same grip as a PVC mat. Sweat doesn’t hurt it and can even improve grip - same as a splash of water.
How hygienic is a cork yoga mat?
It’s way more hygienic than a PVC mat. Cork as a natural material has antibacterial properties, meaning it keeps off germs naturally. This helps the mat stay fresh and odor-free!
How do I clean my cork yoga mat?
The best way is to use cold water on a soft cloth. Gently wipe down the mat let it air dry before you roll it up and put it away. Do not use any aggressive cleaning aids and don't scrub with an abrasive sponge!
Does the cork yoga mat crumple?
If you store it rolled up, it won’t crumple. Sometimes, some creases can appear along the shipping process, but those will even out during use.
How environmentally-friendly is a cork yoga mat?
Cork yoga mats are very eco-friendly. Cork is the bark from cork trees and is harvested without cutting down the tree. Yes, you read that right: Zero trees are cut down to make your cork yoga mat. The cork bark is stripped from the trees (leaving enough layers to keep the tree protected) every 9 years for up to 150 years! This makes it a highly sustainable and also recyclable material.
